Visitors can learn how to protect lives and livelihoods from future tsunami disasters on the basis of Hamaguchi Goryou’s spirit of disaster prevention and the respect for human life shown in “the fire of rice sheaves.”

Special exhibitions such as event-related displays, research presentations and displays of up-to-date information are held here. This room as well as the guidance room also become temporary shelters in times of disaster.

Visitors can watch a guidance video in this room before their tour. The room can be used as a site for lectures and events. It also functions as a temporary shelter and stockpiling site in times of disaster.
